The West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a part-time Bookkeeper / Member Service Representative to join our team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper / Member Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial and membership records, processing accounts payable / receivable, and assisting with budget management. This role requires proficiency in QuickBooks and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization through meticulous record-keeping and financial reporting.
DUTIES
- Accounts Payable (A/P) and Receivable (A/R)
- Enter bills and manage bill payments (down payments, monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Mail bill payments or pay online.
- Invoice membership.
- Collection of past due payments via calls, statements, and emails.
- Deposit money and reconcile bank accounts.
- Process payroll taxes and IRA payments.
- Quarterly upload payroll files to accountant for them to process quarterly taxes.
- Create financial reports for the Board of Directors and the President & CEO
- Backup QuickBooks file and take to the accountant to prepare annual tax returns.
- Event cash management.
- Maintain member databases.
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding of members.
- Answer phone calls, sell gift checks, and greet walk-ins when Office Coordinator is not in.
- Perform cashier duties at Annual Events as requested by President & CEO.
- Manage sensitive information in a professional, discreet, and confidential manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience with accrual accounting, budgeting, general ledger reconciliation, and financial report writing is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively and provide insights for decision-making.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and stakeholders effectively.
SCHEDULE
- Monday through Friday: 18 - 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule between the hours of 9 AM and 4:30 PM.
- Note: Some Chamber special events occur outside of normal business hours. Therefore, this position may be required to accommodate a flexible schedule to meet these obligations.
COMPENSATION
- $18.50 per hour
- Simple IRA plan with 3% match
